Why Visit Devon?Â
Devon is easy to get to! It’s in South West England so if you’re travelling from London, it’s about a 4-hour drive or just over 4 hours by train and bus. It’s a beautiful part of England that’s worth visiting if you’ve never been before.
Devon Cliffs is also close to the city of Exeter – only about a 30-minute drive away! With its famous cathedral and beautiful architecture, it’s a great day out for the whole family. There’s a lot more than meets the eye in Devon.
Accommodation in DevonÂ
If you want to have an easy and hassle-free vacation, Devon Cliffs Holiday Park is your best bet for accommodation, activities and more. It’s the biggest park in the area with a standard caravan option or newer models of lodges to choose from. There’s a range of accommodation options depending on the budget you’re working with.
CaravansÂ
On a tight budget this summer? No problem! Caravans start at £61/4 nights, sleeping 4 people.
Lodges
Lodges are a wonderful way to experience Devon if you’re willing to spend a little more. They start at £359/4 nights, sleeping 4 people. You can also choose an unforgettable lodge with views of the cliffs!
Leisure Activities in Devon
If you enjoy water sports, you’ll love the many Devon Cliffs activities in the area. Swim in the heated outdoor pool and use the indoor pool on cooler days. The outdoor play areas are also ideal for the little ones and there are even play passes available for them to make new friends during your vacation.Â
As mentioned earlier, Exeter is just a short drive and home to a stunning cathedral! It’s only £7.50 for an adult admission and children under 18 are free to enter.
It would be a shame to miss out on some of Devon’s best beaches during your trip. Sandy Bay Beach is just a stone’s throw away from Devon and one of the best spots for snorkelling, kayaking and other water sports. You can relax in rockpools along a stretch of white sand while sporting colourful coral and fish.
Sounds like a good way to spend your summer if you ask me!
Nature Activities in Devon
I personally love getting out in nature during any trip! Budleigh Salterton is near Devon Cliffs and is a must-see destination. The nature reserve offers a chance to explore the great outdoors and maybe even try out surfing. It’s a great place for beginners and experienced surfers in the summer.Â
Want to explore other areas nearby? Check out my blog about the best places to surf in Cornwall here!
You can also enjoy a beach day with direct access to the beach as a visitor to the park. Don’t forget to walk along the Jurassic Coast! It’s a World Heritage Site and you’ll find stunning trails between Exmouth and Budleigh with insane views. The coast carries on for 95 miles and is filled with rocks, fossils and other exciting landforms. You can actually hunt fossils or visit the Fairlynch Museum in the area to learn more!
I’d also suggest checking out Dartmoor National Park if you’re looking for other Devon Cliffs activities to keep you busy. It’s one of the country’s first national parks and home to beautiful nature that will take your breath away.
